After school programs

Our Afterschool Program is a safe place to learn, play, and connect through hands-on activities. Whether it’s creating their own adventures on the rooftop playground, crafting one-of-a-kind art projects in their classrooms, going for a swim in the pool, or baking in the kitchen, there’s always something to enjoy and discover together. And don’t worry – we offer daily homework assistance too!

But it’s not just about what we do. The KAA Afterschool program brings children from different cultures and backgrounds together — and they’re from schools across Louisville. Our diverse, vibrant community empowers kids to create bonds, make new friends and have memorable experiences outside of the usual classroom.

Our after school programs provide a safe place for students to go after school, as well as opportunities for education and enrichment. The three components of the programs include:

KAA staff help guides them and their parents with:

  • Test preparation
  • Understanding the high school courses that will best prepare them for the colleges of their choice
  • Comparing financial aid packages and college fit
  • Writing effective and compelling college application essays
  • Sending students to college with the right supplies, expectations, and support systems in place

The staff takes students to campus visits and tours and organizes events for current high school students and college students to network and share experiences. When possible, KAA connects entering college students to other KAA alumni at their school to serve as mentors.

KAA also keeps in touch with college students, providing virtual guidance and support to help them persist and graduate.
